Fortunately for York County, Pennsylvania residents, there are many York County farmers market options to choose from. Here’s a breakdown to help you plan your next outing.

    1. Brown’s Orchards and Farm Market

    This farmers market on Susquehanna Trail South in the cozy hills of Southern York County has been the pride of the Brown’s family for over 70 years. It features some of the best produce and baked goods in York County.

    It’s open seven days a week. Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

    2. Central Market York

    Located in the heart of downtown York, Central Market York is a great place to get the flavor of York and immerse yourself in the history of the city. People from all over Pennsylvania come to Central Market York to enjoy socializing, fresh food, a cup of coffee with friends and more.

    Market hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and first Friday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

    3. Flinchbaugh’s Orchard and Farm Market

    Open all year long, Flinchbaugh’s is a fourth-generation family farm featuring freshly grown fruits and vegetables as well as baked goods, specialty foods and gifts. You’ll find it in eastern York in the picturesque Hellam Township.

    Flinchbaugh’s features educational farm tours, the opportunity to pick your own produce and various festivals throughout the year. During the fall, they are open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

    4. Leg Up Famers Market

    This all-natural grocery store on North George Street features everything from grass-fed beef and croissants to fresh produce and brick oven pizza — and even sushi!

    You’ll find books, artisanal gifts and other merchandise as well. Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

    5. The Markets at Hanover

    Located on 1649 Broadway in Hanover in South West York County, take the opportunity to enjoy local Amish and Artisan vendors in this welcoming market atmosphere. Shop Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    6. The Markets at Shrewsbury

    The Markets at Shrewsbury are another great selection of Amish treasures, including baked goods, produce and even Amish-built furniture!

    Hours for this can’t-miss market are Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    6. Miller Plant Farm

    Nestled among the rolling York Hills on Indian Rock Dam Road, Miller Plant Farm is the perfect place to go if you’re looking to buy a tree or plants to fill out your garden. However, they also have a fantastic selection of cheeses, produce, hanging baskets and a lot more. Local gardeners have been taking advantage of the Miller Plant Farm garden center for nearly 100 years, and you can, too.

    Hours for this gem are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and closed on Sunday.

    7. Morningstar Marketplace

    Over 10,000 people visit the 300-space flea market, antique gallery and farmer’s market at Morningstar Marketplace every day it is open. This Thomasville, PA farmers market prides itself on having something for everyone, from live plants, garden herbs and fresh produce to antiques, fresh coffee and delicious soft pretzels.

    You’ll find the marketplace open all year long from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday.

    8. Newberrytown Peddlers Market

    This little stop right in between Harrisburg and York is very popular with both kids and their parents. It features crafts, collectibles, great, fresh food and other hidden treasures.

    Stop by any Saturday or Sunday between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.

    9. Paulus Orchards

    This Cumberland County spot is the perfect place for berry picking, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to pick your own strawberries, blueberries, blackberries and raspberries, not to mention apples and even pumpkins!

    There is plenty of delightful farm-fresh food at the café as well. It’s open Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    10. Scarecrow Farms

    Better mark out the whole day to explore this farmers market and flea market in Stewartstown in South East York County that covers four acres. It’s open Thursday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
